LEON STORIE, ATTORNEY AT LAW

About Mr. Storie

I grew up in Gouverneur, New York, a rural community in the Saint Lawrence Valley. The immediate question that most people ask when they learn this is, "How did you get to Tuscaloosa, Alabama?" Well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. In other words it is cold and Alabama is warm (usually).

I came to Alabama in 1994 to attend the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa. While at UA, I developed a strong affinity for the people of Tuscaloosa. I absolutely love that Tuscaloosa is a fairly good size city with a small town atmosphere. The people are friendly and dependable. I can think of no better place to live and raise a family.

After graduating from law school and passing the bar, I took a position at Legal Services Corporation in Tuscaloosa. I worked for Legal Services for about one year (1997 - 1998). It was a rewarding experience that I will never forget. They do good, important work that many other attorneys either cannot or will not do. I would encourage you to support this wonderful program. My primary practice emphasis while at Legal Services was divorce litigation. I continue to practice in this area to this day.

Although Legal Services was wonderfully rewarding, financial considerations made a move necessary. I then took a position with James Smith in Tuscaloosa. While with Mr. Smith, I expanded my practice base to include general civil litigation, criminal defense, juvenile litigation, probate practice, consumer protection litigation, and complex litigation. Once again, this experience was unforgettable, but again, my feet became restless in January, 2004, and I decided to open my own law firm.

In my practice, I try to emphasize personal attention. I want (and expect) my clients to feel comfortable and relaxed with me.  I have found that the bonds of trust are strengthened when this personal relationship is established. Constant communication also ensures a good final work product, which is always the ultimate goal of the attorney/client relationship. For these reasons I encourage clients to be actively involved with their cases and to ask lots of questions.

If you need legal assistance and would like an attorney who will take time to give you truly personal service, I would simply ask that you come by and say "hello." If you are unable to stop by, then please call (205-344-5516) or
e-mail me. I look forward to hearing from you.

-Leon
